HAPPY EIGHTH BIRTHDAY, Q!
born June 19, 1995

Q is named after the character Q from Star Trek The Next Generation.
In the winter, she sleeps under the covers with her head on the pillow next to me. In the summer, she sleeps on her own pillow by my head where I can easily (if I wish) sniff her feet which smell like Fritos. In 2003, Q and I are training for further herding titles for her, a tracking title and an obedience title. She has been--for many happy years--the love of my life.

In our last year together, Q and I have taken up duck herding. This is Q at her first duck herding trial, looking to me for direction when the ducks got stuck in a corner of the arena.

In July of 2004, Q was diagnosed with lymphoma. Click on the above photo to read about Q's battle--and mine--with lymphoma.
